If you would like someone to do an interesting program on bluebirds for your group, contact MBS to schedule a day and time.  We can do talks to nature groups, civic organizations, schools, garden clubs, etc. in most areas of the state.  Go to our Contact Us page, and send a message to the Coordinator for your county.  If there is no one, contact Missy Rassel, our Public Relations Director.

Bill Ray Jan 20, 2011. On the coldest nights in the winter, eastern screech owls will frequently use wood duck boxes for daytime roosting. Found a gray phase this morninig in a box with the a half-eaten frog. Were frogs out during the New Year's thaw??? Jan 20

Bill Ray Dec 29, 2010. At least 5 bluebirds have been feeding on divots of suet created by the woodpeckers at the suet feeder since our snow of a few weeks ago. They are beautiful with their feathers puffed up against the white snow. Dec 29

Bill Ray July 2, 2010: On the upside the second brood of bluebirds fledged from the box in my yard today. Many of the first broods of bluebirds on the trails were killed by cold rainy weather. Second broods are underway but have been fewer in number due to competition with tree swallows and house wrens. Jul 02
